Here\u2019s the mistake people are making right now: they think AI-generated websites are somehow unique just because a machine helped build them. They\u2019re not. In fact, they\u2019re quickly becoming the most recognizable type of site on the web.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve seen it firsthand. A friend of mine spent weeks building a site using Claude. He was proud of it, and fair enough\u2014he put in the time. But when I looked at the result, the patterns jumped out immediately. The layout, the spacing, the visual rhythm\u2026 it all felt familiar in a way that screams \u201cAI-assisted.\u201d<\/p>\n
It didn\u2019t feel custom. It felt like a dressed-up template.<\/strong><\/p>\n AI doesn\u2019t think in terms of originality. It works by predicting patterns based on what it has seen before. So when it generates HTML and CSS, it naturally gravitates toward common structures and safe design choices.<\/p>\n You end up with the same:<\/p>\n None of this is wrong. In fact, it\u2019s often clean and usable. But it lacks personality and intention. It lacks the small decisions that come from experience.<\/p>\n That\u2019s why so many of these sites feel interchangeable.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the part people don\u2019t want to hear. If you\u2019re spending weeks generating and tweaking AI code, hoping for something unique, you\u2019re probably taking the long way around.<\/p>\n In many cases, you\u2019d be better off starting with a solid template and customizing it properly. At least then you\u2019re working from something consistent and predictable, instead of fighting the same patterns over and over again.<\/p>\n AI gives you output. It doesn\u2019t give you taste.<\/strong><\/p>\n A lot of developers worry this trend will replace them. It won\u2019t.
